The Canon camera has a slightly faster lens (f/2.8) than the Nikon camera. Another important feature that the Canon is *manual* shooting mode, which is very convenient if you want to set up your own aperture and speed. The Nikon S51c offers built-in Wi-Fi support that gives your internet connectivity, nice!!!

They both seem to be very good cameras. You should not be disappointed with either camera. What I would suggest is to go to B&#38;H store (http://www.bhphotovideo.com/) with a memory card and try both cameras.
